Meet the iFluidics Team
Members of the executive team have multi-disciplinary technical backgrounds in areas critical to the future success of iFluidics, as well as extensive experience spanning academics, R&D program development and management, and industry.
Chief Technical Advisor and Co‑founder
Dr. Mezic works in the field of dynamical systems and control theory and applications to fluid mechanics, micro and nanoscale processes. He received his Dipl. Ing. In Mechanical Engineering in 1990 from the University of Rijeka, Croatia and his Ph. D. in Applied Mechanics from the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Mezic was a postdoctoral researcher at the Mathematics Institute, University of Warwick, UK in 1994-95. From 1995 to 1999 he was a member of Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he is currently a Professor. In 2000-2001 he worked as an Associate Professor at Harvard University in the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Scientific Advisor and Co‑founder
Dr. Bottausci is a Research Engineer in microtechnology for health and biology applications at the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA) in the Leti laboratory (France). He received his Ph.D in fluid mechanics from L'Ecole Superieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de Paris (France). He won the Gallery of Fluid Motion prize from the American Physical Society for his PhD work. Dr. Bottausci was a postdoctoral researcher in microfluidics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Dr. Greengard is the Director of the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University, and co-founder of AlgoTek, Inc. He is an internationally recognized expert in scientific computing, acoustics, and electromagnetics; a member of both the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering; and the former CEO and CTO of MadMax Optics.
Dr. Csete is Executive Vice President of Research & Development, Organovo and the former Chief Scientific Officer of California’s stem cell agency, CIRM. She is an experienced ICU physician, internationally recognized expert in liver transplantation, and a scientific leader in regenerative medicine and stem cell biology.
Dr. Jones is an expert in advanced technology development and strategic technology convergence with over twenty years in the Defense (DARPA) and National Security communities. His expertise includes Head and Neck Surgery, tactical emergency medicine and combat casualty care, virtual reality, tele- informatics, surgical robotics and simulation, advanced biomedicine and biotechnology as well as biological warfare defense.
